In the Age of Guardians, a world without heroes where man has decided to champion his own causes.  The heroes of this age are man made organizations and the soldiers within them who risk their lives to defend mankind against all things paranormal.

Thaddues Payne, Assistant Director fo the United States' Paranormal Protection Agency is one such man.  In route to a routine prisoner transfer, Payne arrives to find the detention facility nearly demolished and the over 150 men stationed there barely alive, but soundly defeated, all at the hands of one man.  Who is this man?  What power doe he possess?  Why does his existence threaten the nation's security?
